I ride with Texas 4000 to pursue an opportunity for change that fills me with hope. I hold immense pride in being a part of a group that is taking action to make the world a place in which the woes of this disease are seen in the rearview. My mother, grandfather, and uncle, all of which have been affected by cancer, are why I ride.

About Alec Barrett

Hey y'all, I'm Alec. I'm a junior economics major with minors in computer science and Spanish. I was born and raised in Georgetown, TX, about an hour north of Austin. Some fun Alec facts:

1. I'm really into photography, skateboarding, running, and reading
2. I'm the youngest of a family of five, four of which went/go to UT. Unfortunately, the fifth went to A&M
3. I have lots of plants and grew up growing all kinds of vegetables in my garden
4. I love music–please share your music taste and any song recommendations you have
5. I'm learning Spanish and spent Summer 2023 in Santiago, Chile
