Catherine Oordt / 2024 Team Fundraising
"In the summer of 2024 I along with my team will ride to Anchorage Alaska! Honestly the 70 day bike ride meeting so many new people, seeing new places, camping and exploring sounds like the adventure of a life time I cant wait for the good and bad times to come during both the training and on the cornerstone ride. It was the adventure and opportunity to build a community that initially drew me to Texas 4000 but the mission to share hope, knowledge, and charity in the fight against cancer touch a special place in my heart where I hold my best friends story.

About
I am riding for Alex Malone who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when we were 16 years old. I am very proud to say she is thriving at Villanova studying to become a pediatric oncology nurse. Alex has endured more than anyone should ever have to and has taken everything taken everything thrown at her with so much grace. Alex underwent years of chemotherapy, allergic reactions, steroid withdrawal and a double hip replacement all before the age of 20 and she is still dealing with the effects of her treatment to this day. Throughout it all she has been the bravest and strongest person I know, I am honored to be a part of Team Alex.
It is because of Alex that I have firsthand seen the toll that cancer takes on its victims and their friends and family. If you have anyone in your life that you would like me to ride for please share and I will proudly take their story to Alaska with me.
