Catherine Oordt / 2024 Team Fundraising
In the summer of 2024, I will be riding to Anchorage Alaska with my Texas 4000 team! The 70 day bike ride will be the adventure of a lifetime - meeting so many new people, exploring new places, and camping along the way! I’m looking forward to both the fun times and challenges during the training and the cornerstone ride over the summer of 2024. It was the adventure and opportunity to build a community that initially drew me to Texas 4000, but the mission to raise funds and share hope and knowledge for the fight against cancer touches a special place in my heart where I hold my best friend’s story.

About Catherine Oordt
I am riding for my best friend Alex Malone who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when we were 16 years old. I am very proud to say she is thriving at Villanova, studying to become a pediatric oncology nurse. Alex has endured more than anyone should ever have to, yet has taken everything thrown at her with so much grace. All before the age of 20, Alex underwent years of chemotherapy, allergic reactions, steroid withdrawal and a double hip replacement and she is still dealing with the effects of her treatment to this day. Throughout it all, she has been the bravest and strongest person I know. I am honored to be a part of Team Alex.
It is through Alex’s journey that I have seen firsthand the toll that cancer takes on its victims as well as their friends and family. If you have anyone in your life that you would like me to ride for, please share and I will proudly take their story to Alaska with me.
